Hi ! My name is Lena Rasmussen and I have a passion for painting portraits and still life's. I also love doing perspective landscapes. I enjoy working with many types of artist's mediums like oil paints and colourful acrylics. I enjoy drawing with watercolour pencils, and sketching large studies with charcoal or conte. I play occasionally with ink and dabble with graphite. I'm just learning how to use watercolours. I've even had the pleasure of trying my hand at printmaking! My art style will continue changing, as I continue growing with all the new knowledge and new techniques that I'll be gathering in my travels, both spiritually and physically.

On this colourful site you will find images of paintings I've done over the past few years. I am an art lover, and I've finally gotten up the nerve to share my art with all those who dare have a look ! I hope you are an art lover, too !

I lived in Australia for a short stint and enjoyed a few art studio classes during my stay in a fairly remote area while I was there. I've also spent many years in Vancouver and Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The last two years I've spent in a community up north in British Columbia. In the evenings I have watched the 'Northern Lights' spookily dance in the darkened sky. I will be travelling overseas and visiting several places in Japan this summer 2001. You can bet that this visit will have a major influence on many of my upcoming paintings !

I've heard that artist's are their own worst enemies, as I am, when it comes to judging my own work. Many of my paintings I am continuously trying to fix... So, that is why you will be seeing some changes take place as I take some of my paintings that I've posted on this site - and fixing them ! Please be patient ! :-) I will keep adding images of most of my newer paintings as I finish them. I hope you will check back once in a while to have a look !

I've spent so many uplifting hours learning how to build this web site on my own. If you ever decide to build your own web site, I recommend that you try Trellix Web. I downloaded their free software from their web site (see my recommended sites) and just started building ! It's very user friendly ! I've learned so much and it's been so much fun !

June 24, 2001***Note: I've had a bit of bad luck with the software for the digital camera I've been using. I was nearly finished taking all of the photos of my paintings and drawings and then downloading these images onto my computer for my web site, when I ran into this problem that I do not have the time to fix. (please excuse the long run on sentence!)

As I said earlier, I will be leaving for a trip to Japan. When I get back I will post newer works and more information on this site. Please have a look at the few pieces that I was able to put on my web site !
